The employer is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to assist with the harvest season (including pre and post harvest). Main daily job duties include conducting simple daily vehicle maintenance checks (DOT pre-trip inspections), filling water jugs with drinking water for the workers each morning, timekeeping, field walking, and ensuring field sanitation measures are maintained throughout the day. Laborer/Driver will also pick up workers from employer provided housing, take them to the worksites, and drive workers back to their housing. They will only spend about ten percent of their workday doing driving duties. They are required to take workers once a week to the bank and grocery store. Background check and random drug testing will be post-hire at employer's expense, per DOL/MSPA and DOT requirements. Workers may also perform farming, harvesting and packing activities of crops such as squash, peppers (including bell pepper and specialty pepper), cucumber, eggplant, tomatoes, corn, tomatillos, and zucchini. Duties may include field preparation, laying plastic, planting, tying, pruning, weeding, field cleanup, irrigation setup and maintenance, and other farm maintenance and related field support. Duties also include harvesting, packing, sorting, handling, and other related post-harvest work. Properly assigned workers may also operate farm equipment. Duties may also include other general farm labor.
